Flogging Molly is a fucking great band in their own right, but the Pogues are legendary. If I Should Fall From Grace With God, Sick Bed of Cucuchlainn, Fairytale of NY, Irish Rover, Waltzing Matilda, Broad Majestic Shannon some of my favorites.

what kind of music is it exactly, folk irish (which i like to, drunken irish songs are the best especially when your drunk too)
punk irish, or scottish. either way i'll take your recommendation and check them out

Ahh, the pogues. I love those guys. the pogues are like flogging molly but 20 years ago. Truth is, when you listen to the newest flogging molly cd, it sounds like a direct decendant of the pogues. To the average listener, they are the same band. Of the recommended titles, i suggest "if i should fall from the grace of god". GREAT ALBUM!

awesome...i will definitely check them out, thanx for the recommendation... i love the response flogging molly is getting from all the kids, its nice to have a variety of sounds in a band. it took a bit to sink in to some though "that guys playing a banjo?>?>? what the...?"

Hey Wark, was Throwrag the opening band for Flogging Molly when you saw them in Houston, and if so, did you get a chance to check them out?

throw rag always opens for flogging molly it seems, they are an interesting band too, i always enjoy seeing them although they are not one of my top picks, but they put on a good, nearly naked show...i like washtub guy

no throw rag did not open, some band called the Blue Meanies (if I remember correctly) they were alright but not really my thing. I like bad religion, pennywise, fugazi, anti-flag, revolting cocks, face to face, operation ivy, agent orange, pulley, agnostic front, dropkick murphys, H20, and many more.......

I envy all you californians, I recently visited for the first time and fell in love. I was born in Michigan and have traveled half way around the world leaving me stuck in Texas (for now). But I belong in Cali. Houston's music scene is nearly nonexistent. It sucks! But anyways I saw a band called Automatic-Seven in Houston, they opened for D.R.I or maybe it was a punk-o-rama show but they were from the L.A. area and were alright. Anyone heard of them?

i though houstins music was pretty decent... i haven't been there in a while though...i was born in dallas but have lived here all my life. a lot of my family is still back there in san marcos and texarkana...i love san marcus, its sooo beautiful and i love the storms.
